Dr. Adel Mubarak, President of Menoufia University, participated in the activities of the first edition of the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Security Week, which was held last week at the Abu Dhabi Exhibition Center (ADNEC) under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of the Board The management of the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority, with the participation of 400 exhibitors and sponsoring companies, and 150 international speakers, discussing strengthening the authority’s efforts to achieve sustainable agricultural development, support the food security system, and help farmers implement the best agricultural practices followed globally.

Mubarak explained that the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Security Week included a number of events related to agricultural sustainability issues, food and bio security, in addition to food safety and quality, including the "Abu Dhabi Conference for Agriculture and Food Security" and the Agrithon competition with the participation of university students, and the distribution ceremony for the best honey competition sponsored by the Abu Dhabi Quality Council Compliance, and Sheikh Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi Awards in the field of beekeeping and honey production.

He added that the week's activities also dealt with important topics, including vertical and hydroponic farming, indoor agriculture, aquaculture, and agriculture in controlled environments, discussing the basic challenges of the agricultural sector in the Arab region, working to modernize farming systems and facing water, soil and climate challenges, in addition to the requirements Increase productivity and improve the quality of agricultural and livestock production to meet food security challenges.

The week also hosted the "Five Middle East and Africa for Livestock Production" exhibition, related to the development of livestock, dairy production, poultry and table eggs, with the participation of a number of experts, academics and researchers who present various working papers discussing agriculture and food issues.

Dr. Ayman Hafez, Dean of Agriculture, and Dr. Ahmed Abdel Kawy, Professor of Economic Entomology and Beekeeping at the Faculty also participated in the activities of the week from Menoufia University.
