The Secretariat of the Abdel Fattah Sabri Short Story Award honored Prof. Ahmed Farag El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, and thanked Menoufia University for sponsoring and hosting the third annual awards ceremony.

Prof. Ahmed El-Kased emphasized that cultural activities at Egyptian universities are of paramount importance in shaping students' personalities, developing their abilities and skills, and preparing them to serve society. They contribute to building awareness and a sense of belonging among students, developing their social skills, and promoting the values of tolerance and coexistence. They also play a vital role in preserving society's cultural identity and transmitting it to future generations.

Prof. Ahmed El-Kased also emphasized the importance of cooperation between the university and various cultural institutions to organize joint events, offer diverse cultural programs, and encourage students to participate in these activities, which contribute to preparing them to become active members of their communities, capable of contributing to their development and progress.

The Award Secretariat congratulated the university students who won the competition, including Menna Abdel Azim Abdel Aziz, a second-year student at the Faculty of Arts at Menoufia University, who won first place in the single-story category for her story "The Shadow."

The Award Secretariat also thanked the university students for their active participation in organizing the ceremony, including Malak Al-Shihi, a second-year student at the Faculty of Mass Communications. She is a colloquial poet who won the Menoufia Creativity Award twice and is a member of the award's media team. She brilliantly presented the first part of the ceremony, and Samer Haitham, a third-year student at the Faculty of Arts and Vice Secretary of the Faculty's Student Union, who efficiently supervised the organizing team and welcomed guests.

It is worth noting that the founder of the award, Abdel Fattah Sabry, is an Egyptian writer, poet, critic and novelist. Over the course of forty years, he has made numerous contributions to the fields of culture, writing, journalism and creativity. He has published more than forty books in short stories, poetry and literary writing. He is a major contributor to enriching the Arab cultural scene, based on Sharjah's cultural experience, where he works as the editor-in-chief of Al Rafid cultural magazine, published by the Department of Culture in the Sharjah government. Through his cultural leadership position, he has contributed to organizing numerous literary, intellectual and critical forums in various Arab countries, and has introduced many writers and creatives.
