Menoufia University Continues Its Progress in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2026

Prof. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, announced a new global achievement as the University advanced in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2026, issued by the British Times Organization for Higher Education Institutions. Menoufia University has maintained its strong academic and research performance, appearing in the global rankings for the 11th consecutive year. The University ranked within the 1201–1500 band worldwide among 2,191 universities representing 93 countries, and achieved the 25th position among Egyptian universities listed in the ranking. Furthermore, Menoufia University was classified among the top 1,000 universities globally in research quality, reflecting its distinguished status among Egyptian, Arab, and international universities and its continuous efforts to enhance its educational and research systems.

Prof. El-Kased affirmed that the University’s consistent presence in the Times Rankings for eleven consecutive years is the result of integrated efforts and collective work by all members of the University across different sectors.

He explained that the Times Higher Education World University Rankings is one of the most prestigious global university rankings, relying on precise performance indicators based on five main pillars: teaching quality, research environment, research influence, international outlook, and industry engagement. These criteria highlight the University’s ability to deliver a high-quality educational experience, develop an advanced research environment, foster international collaboration, and contribute effectively to innovation and economic development.

Prof. El-Kased noted that this achievement was based on the University’s global reputation and its recognized excellence, as the evaluation considered factors such as learning environment quality, faculty-to-student ratio, academic qualifications, human and financial resources, research infrastructure, research impact, and international research collaborations. Menoufia University also demonstrated strong capacity to translate knowledge into practical applications through partnerships with the industrial sector, reinforcing its position as a leading institution in innovation.

He extended his congratulations to all University staff members for this new achievement, expressing his satisfaction with the University’s continued progress in global rankings. He reaffirmed the University’s commitment to implementing the directives of the political leadership to enhance the ranking of Egyptian universities and research institutions internationally, in line with the national strategy for higher education and scientific research, which emphasizes adherence to international benchmarking standards.

Prof. Ghada Ali Hassan, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, stated that the University’s advancement in this year’s Times Ranking reflects a clear strategic research plan focused on supporting international publication and expanding joint research cooperation. She added that the University seeks to enhance the quality, impact, and citation of its research outputs, aligning them with sustainable development goals and Egypt’s Vision 2030.

Prof. Hatem Sayed Ahmed, Dean of the Faculty of Computers and Information and Supervisor of the University Information Center, emphasized that this accomplishment is the outcome of persistent effort and coordination across all University sectors. He confirmed that Menoufia University systematically collects and analyzes academic and research performance data to ensure accuracy in international evaluations. Its continued presence in this distinguished global ranking for the eleventh consecutive year is a testament to its sustained progress and global stability as an academic institution.
