Prof. Ahmed Farag El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, has issued a decision assigning Dr. Heyam Mostafa Abdullah Salem, Professor in the Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences at the Faculty of Specific Education and Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, as Coordinator of the Central Academic Advising Unit at the University, until 31 July 2026.

This decision comes in light of the approval of the University Council at its session held on 22 February 2026 to establish a Central Academic Advising Unit. The unit will be responsible for setting the general policies and regulatory standards governing the academic advising system, monitoring implementation mechanisms across the faculties, and conducting periodic performance evaluations to ensure the highest levels of quality and efficiency within the educational system.

Prof. El-Kased explained that the unit aims to unify the visions and procedures regulating academic advising across all faculties of the University, while strengthening the role of academic advisors in supporting students, assisting them in planning their academic paths, and helping them overcome academic challenges. This, in turn, contributes to improving performance rates and reducing academic difficulties.

The President of the University emphasized that the establishment of the Central Academic Advising Unit represents a strategic step toward developing the educational process. He noted that the University seeks to adopt best practices in providing academic and psychological support to students, in line with quality assurance and accreditation standards.

Prof. El-Kased further added that academic advising is no longer merely an administrative function but has become a fundamental pillar in shaping the personality of university students and enabling them to make well-informed academic and professional decisions. He affirmed that the coming period will witness the comprehensive activation of the academic advising system across all faculties, accompanied by continuous monitoring to measure performance indicators and ensure the achievement of the desired objectives.
