Under the patronage of Prof. Ahmed Farag El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, students of the University, through the Leadership Preparation Department, participated in the activities of the “Qiyam” Forum, held at the Leadership Preparation Institute in Helwan under the supervision of Prof. Sobhy Sharaf, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development and Supervisor of the Education Sector at the University. The forum took place from 2 to 4 March 2026, with the participation of 25 Egyptian universities.
Prof. El-Kased affirmed that the University’s participation in such national forums reflects its continuous commitment to supporting purposeful student activities and to building a well-rounded student personality that combines academic excellence with national awareness and strong values.
The President of the University explained that the University attaches great importance to leadership preparation and skills development programs, believing that the true investment lies in human capital and that an aware and capable youth constitutes the fundamental pillar for achieving sustainable development goals and shaping the future of the nation.
The forum activities commenced with an opening session attended by Dr. Karim Hammam, Director of the Leadership Preparation Institute in Helwan, and Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Fattah, Vice Director of the Institute. Both delivered the opening remarks and welcomed the participating universities, emphasizing the importance of instilling a strong system of values in shaping the character of university students and strengthening their national and societal roles.
The program included several important awareness sessions. The first session was entitled “Axes of the National Strategy for Combating Drugs and Investing in Prevention”, delivered by Dr. Amr Othman, Director of the Fund for Combating and Treating Addiction. He reviewed the state’s efforts to confront the phenomenon of addiction and highlighted the role of youth in supporting prevention initiatives and community awareness.
The second session, titled “Values and Building Youth Awareness,” was delivered by Dr. Nazeer Ayyad of Dar Al-Ifta Al-Misriyyah. In his lecture, he addressed the importance of strengthening ethical and national values in confronting intellectual challenges, as well as the role of educational institutions in preparing an aware and enlightened generation.
The forum also featured a variety of activities—sports, cultural, and artistic—aimed at developing teamwork skills, refining students’ abilities, and strengthening the spirit of belonging and cooperation among students from Egyptian universities.
During the event, the delegation of Menoufia University presented an initiative entitled “Your Skills Are Your Security for Tomorrow” to the Institute’s administration as part of the forum program. The initiative aims to develop youth life and leadership skills and raise awareness of the importance of future planning, thereby contributing to the preparation of capable student cadres able to assume responsibility and participate effectively in building society.
The delegation was accompanied by Ahmed Gharib (Supervisor), under the supervision of Dr. Mohamed Shaheen, Director General of the General Administration for Student Welfare, and Osama Deif, Director of the Leadership Preparation Department at the University.
