Today, Prof. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, received a delegation from the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education (NAQAE) to launch the New Beginning Initiative for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education. The initiative is being held under the patronage of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, and under the auspices of Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, and the League of Arab States.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Nasser Abdel Bary, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Ikrami Gamal, Secretary General of the University; Prof. Wafaa Zahran, Director of the Quality Assurance Center at the University; Dr. Hesham Abdel Nasser, Executive Director of the Initiative and Advisor to the President of the Authority for Political Communication; and Dr. Hussein Khater, Responsible for Implementing the Initiative's Training Plan.
Prof. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, expressed his happiness with the launch of the New Beginning Initiative to ensure quality education, support the role of university students, and integrate them into the requirements of sustainable development and Egypt's Vision 2030, which prioritizes supporting education at all levels and integrating university students into improving the quality of education and improving educational outcomes to meet the labor market and its modern requirements. Emphasizing that Menoufia University is committed to implementing all quality objectives and standards within its faculties, the Menoufia University Council announced that 2025 will be the year of quality and institutional accreditation. This comes as a result of a large number of Menoufia University faculties obtaining academic, programmatic, and institutional accreditation. Furthermore, some faculties' departments have distinguished themselves as the first internationally accredited departments among Egyptian universities, such as the Libraries Department at the Faculty of Arts. The Faculty of Pharmacy and Medicine has also obtained institutional accreditation, along with many other faculties accredited by the Quality and Accreditation Authority. The University President also emphasized that the "New Beginning" initiative to ensure quality education was launched in line with the state's vision to activate the role of students in higher education institutions in promoting quality education and raising awareness among Egyptian and international students. This is what Menoufia University has done by spreading the culture of quality and accreditation among university students through initiatives prepared by the Quality Assurance Center and departments at the faculties. Student activities also provided information about the importance of quality through theatrical production and other purposeful activities. These activities demonstrated the importance of achieving quality education standards in building the Egyptian individual and creating generations aware of the importance of good education and its role in facing future challenges. They also presented quality standards aimed at preparing educated, aware graduates who adhere to their national identity, in addition to preparing future leaders capable of driving development and progress in educational institutions. This is achieved through organized visits and workshops conducted by the Authority's trainers for students at Egyptian universities. Prof. Nasser Abdel Bari, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, pointed out that Menoufia University recognizes the role of students in driving development and improving the quality of education. He added that Menoufia University offers educational and cultural materials that highlight the role of quality in improving education and instilling the concept that quality is a way of life. The university also organizes numerous student workshops in various faculties on the role of university students in providing educational suggestions that contribute to developing their creative abilities to meet the labor market. Furthermore, the university is creating an integrated database for all academic programs and courses and improving the performance of the university's faculties and institutes by updating their programs and regulations to ensure the graduation of students at a distinguished level compared to their counterparts at other universities. It is also establishing communication channels with national and international bodies concerned with evaluating and ensuring quality in university education, with the aim of exchanging experiences, developing the educational process, and establishing a database for quality centers at the highest competitive level. Dr. Hesham Abdel Nasser, the initiative's executive director and advisor to the Authority's president for political communication, emphasized that the "New Beginning for Quality Education" initiative aims to achieve Egypt's Vision 2030 and the Sustainable Development Program in Education. It also aims to provide opportunities for cooperation and integrated work between state agencies and institutions to improve the quality of education, engage university students in all governorates, and clarify their desired role in building the Egyptian state. It also aims to raise student awareness of the importance of achieving quality education standards in building the Egyptian citizen and creating generations aware of the importance of good education and its role in facing future challenges. It also aims to present quality standards that aim to prepare educated, aware graduates who adhere to their national identity, empower students to participate actively in evaluating their academic programs and educational institutions, and prepare future leaders capable of driving the wheel of development in educational institutions. It also aims to build effective partnerships between students, faculty, and university administration, disseminate a culture of quality among students in higher education and employees in state agencies and institutions, and offer workshops on quality education tailored to the nature of each ministry and institution and its role within the state. This will allow the Authority to leverage the resources and personnel available to maximize the benefits accruing to the nation and its citizens through a graduate with a developed and developing personality. Dr. Hesham Abdel Nasser and Dr. Khater, Executive Officer of the Initiative’s Training Plan, completed the training day’s activities with the students by listening and discussing the students’ requirements from various faculties of Menoufia University to improve the quality of education provided and the extent to which they benefit from the quality of education and standards provided by the Quality and Accreditation Authority towards educating and graduating a distinguished student in the local and international labor market. They announced the approaching date for the National Authority for Quality and Accreditation of Education to announce student practices and competitions in the areas of applying quality standards and objectives within the faculties and distributing awards and certificates to five winning universities in the presence of the Prime Minister and fifteen ministers of ministries concerned with education quality.
