Under the auspices of Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, and in the presence of Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Dr. Mohamed Awad Taj El-Din, Advisor to the President of the Republic for Health and Prevention Affairs, and the Ministers of Planning and Economic Development, Health and Population, Communications and Information Technology, Finance, Education and Technical Education, Youth And sports, agriculture and land reclamation, manpower, Ambassador / Gareth Bailey, British Ambassador to Cairo, Dr. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, participated in the activities of launching the national strategy for higher education and scientific research, in the presence of the heads of Egyptian public, private and private universities.
The President of the University indicated that Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education, gave a detailed presentation on the national strategy for higher education and scientific research, which is based on three main axes: (the first) the sustainable development strategy (Egypt’s Vision 2030), (the second) the shift towards next-generation universities the fourth; To keep pace with global trends by supporting the leadership of Egyptian universities in the education industry and strengthening its role as an influential and decision-making body in meeting the needs of the labor market. It should measure and evaluate the performance of the economy by supporting the economic development plan by promoting investment in the education and scientific research sectors, and building digital infrastructure; To bridge gaps and benefit from research and innovation outputs.
Dr. Ayman Ashour also reviewed the seven principles that form a roadmap for the strategy, which are (integration, interdisciplinary, communication, active participation, sustainability, international reference, innovation and entrepreneurship), stressing that they support the transformation of educational institutions into innovative institutions that contribute to attracting scientific cadres. excellence, and building a strong ecosystem that contributes to the development of educational institutions.
The President of the University appreciated the efforts of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research under the leadership of Dr. Ayman Ashour, indicating that the national strategy for higher education will make a huge leap in achieving the goals of sustainable development in accordance with Egypt’s Vision 2030, which is adopted by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, and his constant emphasis on developing Higher education and scientific research to achieve a comprehensive development goal for the educational sector, and to link the outputs of knowledge and innovation with the priorities of the state to achieve comprehensive development towards the new republic.
