Under the patronage of Prof. Ahmed Farag El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, the current mid-year break witnessed wide-ranging and dynamic student activity reflecting the excellence of the university’s students across scientific, cultural, artistic, athletic, and social fields. The activities were supervised by Prof. Nasser Abdel Bari, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and followed up by Dr. Mohamed Shaheen, Director General of Student Welfare.

Prof. Ahmed Farag El-Kased affirmed that Menoufia University places the development of the well-rounded student personality at the top of its priorities, noting that student activities are a cornerstone in fostering national awareness, refining leadership and creative skills, and strengthening the spirit of belonging and teamwork. He added that the achievements realized during the mid-year break reflect the significant efforts exerted by the Education and Student Affairs sector and the Youth Welfare Departments across the faculties.

The University President pointed out that student activities present an honorable image of Menoufia University students and demonstrate their ability to balance academic excellence with distinction in various extracurricular activities.

He further emphasized that the university administration continues to support initiatives and programs that contribute to discovering talents and developing capabilities, while expanding partnerships with state institutions to provide broader opportunities for training, qualification, and practical experience. This stems from the university’s vision of preparing an aware, creative graduate qualified for the labor market locally, regionally, and internationally. He explained that through this comprehensive student movement, Menoufia University believes that true investment lies in its students, as they are the leaders of the future and essential partners in the journey of development and building the New Republic.

For his part, Prof. Nasser Abdel Bari explained that the university was keen to offer diverse programs and activities that meet students’ interests and align with the Egyptian state’s vision of human development. He stressed that students’ active participation in various events reflects their awareness and eagerness to benefit from every opportunity for development and skill enhancement.

Within the framework of national activities, and upon the assignment of the Presidency of the Republic, and in cooperation with the Popular Defense and Military Forces and the Military Education Department, the Leadership Preparation Department organized a field visit to North Sinai for 30 male and female students. The visit included inspections of several national and developmental projects, such as the Al-Arish seawater desalination plant, the development of Al-Arish Port, the modernization of Battalion 101, and a visit to the Red Crescent Center for aid directed to the Gaza Strip, in addition to visiting the military landmark of Tabet Al-Shagara. This contributed to enhancing students’ awareness of the scale of the Egyptian state’s achievements and development efforts.

The Leadership Preparation Department also organized a first-aid training course for university students at the Faculty of Nursing over three days, with the participation of approximately 500 male and female students.

In scientific, technological, and artistic activities, the university participated in the final rounds of the “Ibda’a 14” competition in the fields of fine arts (graphic design and photography), religious chanting, and theatrical performances. The play “Alif Baa” was presented in dramatic theater, and “Al-Jarra” in musical theater, receiving praise for the high level of student performance.

The Social Activity and Trips Department organized a trip to Luxor and Aswan as part of the “Know Your Country” program (Youth Train) in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports from January 23 to 30, aiming to enhance students’ tourism and cultural awareness.

University sports facilities hosted the events of the presidential initiative “Week of Goodness,” organized by the Tahya Misr Fund in cooperation with Misr El Kheir Foundation, to support families most in need, as part of the university’s community role.

In the sports field, the Sports Activity Department participated in the Universities League (53) from January 25 to February 1, held at Ain Shams University, the University of the Capital, and the American University. The competitions were conducted within a simulation model of the African Games, which will be hosted by the Egyptian Universities Sports Federation in August 2026 in the Arab Republic of Egypt. Participation included football (male students), handball (female students), wrestling and judo (male and female students), chess (male students), and athletics (male and female students—able-bodied and students with special needs).

A trip was also organized to visit the Cairo International Book Fair (57th edition), with the participation of 43 male and female students from various faculties.

The university also participated in the awareness forum of the program “A Youth Vision to Confront Extremism and Terrorism,” in cooperation with Al-Azhar Observatory for Combating Extremism and the theological colleges affiliated with the Coptic Church, held from February 3 to 7 at the Youth City in Port Said, with the participation of six male and female students, in support of efforts to promote a culture of tolerance and moderation.

In the context of developing student leadership, and through the Families and Student Unions Department, the Student Leadership Center at Menoufia University concluded the activities of the training program “Towards a Better Life,” within the “Building the Integrated Student” series. The program was held over two days at the University Hotel and combined the concepts of a “sound mind” and a “sound body,” in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, reaffirming the university’s commitment to preparing students who are intellectually and physically balanced and capable of assuming responsibility.
